Rust Server Analytics

information page

These terms cover what Rust Server Analytics provides and what it does not.

The site is provided as it is. Rust Server Analytics reads server data from Steam's public Rust server list and directly from servers. The refresh interval is five minutes. Accuracy is not guaranteed. A server can report a wipe late, publish a misleading name, or return a player count that lags. Treat each reading as a snapshot.

Using the site. Browsing and comparing servers is free and needs no account. Avoid rapid repeated requests, which slow the site for other visitors. For bulk access to the dataset, email hello@rustserveranalytics.org and we will discuss options.

Crawlers and AI tools. Search engines, bots and AI crawlers may index the site. Read robots.txt and llms.txt first; they set out what is where. Keep the fetch rate low enough that ordinary visitors still get fast pages.

Server owners. A server appears because it is on the public list. Its page is built from what the server publishes: name, tags, wipe times, player slots. To change the display, change the setting on the server. Most edits are picked up within five minutes.

No affiliation. Rust Server Analytics is independent and has no connection with Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.

Changes. These terms may be revised without notice. The date at the foot of the page shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a revision means the updated terms apply.

Questions

3 answered from the figures in this report
Q1Where does Rust Server Analytics get its server data?

Data is read automatically from Steam's public Rust server list and directly from individual servers, then refreshed every five minutes. Nothing is entered by hand, so a server's own published settings determine what appears. Readings are snapshots and can lag behind the live state.

Q2Can a server owner change what the site shows?

Yes, by changing the setting on the server itself: name, tags, wipe times and player slots all come from what the server publishes. Most edits appear within one refresh cycle of five minutes. There is no separate edit form on the site.

Q3Does Rust Server Analytics offer bulk data access?

Bulk access is arranged case by case rather than through a public download. Email hello@rustserveranalytics.org with the details of what you need. Crawlers should check robots.txt and llms.txt and keep fetch rates low.
