Rust Server Analytics

information page

Rust Server Analytics collects what public Rust servers publish and reports it as live statistics.

Rust Server Analytics exists because the in-game server browser gives a player a name and a number and little else. The site reads Steam's public Rust server list on a five-minute refresh, capturing server names, player counts, queues and the tags each server publishes. It also queries each server directly for settings such as map seed, FPS and entity count. Not every server answers those direct queries. Where a server stays silent, the site reports only what Steam publishes and nothing more.

From those sources the site holds player counts, wipe dates, rankings and population history for every public server. That record answers questions the browser cannot: which server is busy every evening rather than for one night after a wipe, which region holds its population, which group limit fits, and which server has just restarted its wipe cycle. Use the server directory to browse, the live player count page for current populations, the wipe schedule for cycle dates, and the just wiped list for recent restarts.

Rankings use players over the past week, measured hour by hour. A server with steady daily population ranks above one that peaks only after a wipe. Order is by measured player count and never by payment. Advertising is separate from ranking and is described on the advertising page.

Rust Server Analytics is independent and not affiliated with Facepunch Studios. Nothing on the site is endorsed by Facepunch. Server names, descriptions and images remain the property of the people who run those servers.

Every figure shown comes from what a server publishes about itself. If a server's entry looks wrong, the cause is usually in that server's own settings, and a corrected publication appears within about five minutes of the next refresh. If an entry still looks wrong, write to hello@rustserveranalytics.org with the server address so the record can be checked. For site rules and data handling, see the terms of use and the privacy policy.

Questions

3 answered from the figures in this report
Q1What is Rust Server Analytics?

It is an independent statistics site that tracks every public Rust server. It records live player counts, population history, wipe dates, settings and rankings, refreshed every five minutes. The data is intended for server owners benchmarking their own numbers and for players comparing servers on evidence.

Q2Is Rust Server Analytics affiliated with Facepunch?

No. The site is independent and has no affiliation with Facepunch Studios, and nothing on it is endorsed by Facepunch. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.

Q3How are servers ranked, and can a server pay for a higher position?

Ranks use players over the past week, measured hour by hour, so a server with steady daily population ranks above one that fills only after a wipe. Lists are ordered by measured player count, never by payment. Advertising is kept separate from ranking and is set out on the advertising page.
